Who we are FishingHQ is operated by Footprint Group. Contact: **privacy@footprintgroup.online**.

What we collect - **Account details:** your email address, display name (optional), home region and an encrypted password. - **Your catches:** species, date, region, venue, weight, length, bait, method, notes and photos you upload. - **Identification requests:** photos you submit for identification and the result. - **Activity and security logs:** sign-ins, uploads and changes, with IP address and device type, used to keep accounts secure and investigate abuse.

How we use it - To provide the service: identifying fish, storing your catch log and showing your checklist and stats. - To keep accounts secure and prevent abuse. - To send essential emails (email confirmation and password resets). We don't send marketing without your consent.

Photos Photos are stored privately. We **remove location (GPS) and camera data** from every photo when you upload it. Your photos are only visible to you and FishingHQ administrators.

AI identification Photos you submit for identification are sent to our AI provider, **Anthropic**, to generate the result. They are not used to train AI models.

Who we share it with Service providers who help us run FishingHQ: hosting (Railway), email delivery (Resend), AI identification (Anthropic) and weather data (Open-Meteo, which receives only an approximate location). We never sell your data.

How long we keep it Until you delete your account. Security logs are kept for up to 12 months.

Your rights (UK GDPR) You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Use **Account → Export my data** or **Delete account**, or email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
